BOSIG-Tex acrylic resins are air drying or heat-curing synthetic resins produced by homo- or copolymerisation of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid esters. Air drying, solvent-containing acrylic resins are used as binding agents for industrial coatings and façade paints. Heat curing acrylic resins are components of binders in baked enamels for metal and plastic surfaces. Apart from conventional systems, high solids are becoming increasingly important - due to the VOC Directive. Acrylic resins are used as lacquers in industry, for new vehicles and vehicle repair and also as paints for plastic, furniture, utility vehicles and machines, including aerosols, road marking paints, in building applications or for electro-immersion painting. The hydroxyl acrylates are a special case since they may be used as 2-component systems together with isocyanates due to their free OH groups.
