The core material comprises mineral-bound flat pressed boards. The surface is tough, anti-slip, weatherproof and UV stabilised. The possibilities in terms of shape, geometry and design are virtually unlimited, also for customised orders, rendering Balkotec T a staircase surface with many variations.

Balkotec TS

For the renovation of old buildings, the architect has many system solutions at his disposal today, ranging throughout the house from the basement to the roof, including windows, doors and façades. Economic system solutions are available, especially for the interior, for the renovation of steps and entire staircases. The conventional (quite unconvincing) renovation systems for outdoor staircases are compromise solutions between practical value and cost of renovation. They have thus far not found wide acceptance in the market, i.e. monolithic methods of concrete repair and the subsequent liquid coating and application of ceramic or natural stone layers are dominating.

As a system for the renovation of outdoor staircases, Balkotec TS is a novelty and a significant innovation. This is achieved because it is possible to use accurately fitting prefabricated parts everywhere and because the gluing technique economically affixes the high quality, wear resistant material (epoxy resin / glass fibre), also allowing the thickness of the component parts to be restricted to only 5 mm. There is nothing comparable on the market today. Balkotec TS steps have been developed for private use applications – they are not suitable for application in public and commercial facilities.

Balkotec TS is manufactured from high-grade Pre-preg material. This compound material has excellent mechanical properties of high strength and rigidity. Tensile and compressive loads are absorbed by the fibres whilst the matrix absorbs shear forces. The surface is tough, anti-slip, weatherproof and UV stabilised.

The Balkotec TS system is exclusively for staircase renovation. The treads, risers and raceway panels have a core of high strength epoxy resin / fibre glass compound and the head is made of polyurethane. They are coated with a high quality final coat which is resistant against UV, wear and the weather and also withstands chemicals (de-icing salt) and other substances (flower petals, leaves, Cola, wine, coffee). The final coating is available in 13 standard colours as shown in the Balkotec colour chart – special colours are possible. The high quality special adhesive SB PUR 40 has a polyurethane base.
