CUSTOMER BENEFITS

Sound and noise protection, vibration damping

Our foams have very good mechanical properties and offer good resistance to ageing.

They are often used in mechanical and plant engineering either as sealing material or filter foam, for sound insulation and sound damping or for vibration damping and anti-drumming.

Sound and noise protection: Insulation of machine housings

The direct insulation of the noise source and vibration damping is the best way to reduce the sound propagation in industrial and machine halls. As a result, the sound is already absorbed to a large extent at the source and spreads less in the room. Small areas at the noise source must be equipped with sound-reducing materials, if one compares the areas on the ceiling and walls required for sound absorption.

Vibration damping

Vibration absorption

Vibrations due to jolting, shocks, impacts etc. are the cause of unwanted noise and mechanical stress. Especially on sensitive machines and instruments it is therefore necessary to dampen the causal vibrations. Dampers absorb vibrations by converting kinetic energy into thermal energy, thus reducing noise and mechanical stress.

Vibration and shock absorbing materials such as polyurethane or polyethylene foams are ideal for use in technical areas. Cellular rubber or combination products are also used as vibration damping materials.

Seals

Sealing

Sealing gaskets can be used to prevent or reduce undesired transitions, leaks or mixing of liquids or gases between units. In ventilation and air-conditioning systems, these are also used to reduce the pressure drop.

Polyethylene foams and cellular rubber are very well suited for the production of sealing gaskets due to their technical and chemical properties. These materials are flexible or mouldable and have a closed cell structure that prevents the transfer of liquid or gaseous substances.

Filter Foams

Filter foams

Filter foams are used to separate solids in gas or liquid streams. Open-cell materials with uniform cell size, such as polyurethane foams, are mainly used for this purpose. The filter medium is able to retain unwanted particles. The material and cell size of the pores are selected according to the requirements.

Applications

Renewable energy sources - sealing and noise protection

Cable ducts for connecting solar cells, cell rubber underlays for solar modules or EPDM tapes for photovoltaic systems? Our product solutions made of materials with excellent ageing, weathering and UV resistance and very good temperature behaviour are ideally suited for these applications.

Attaching sound-absorbing materials to noise-generating technical components in the engine room of wind turbines - such as the generator and gearbox - is an efficient way of reducing vibration and noise. Some of the structure-borne noise is prevented from propagating, thus reducing the machine noise.

Home appliances

With sound insulation from BOSIG, you ensure low-noise operation of white goods. Noise-reducing measures on washing machines or vacuum cleaners are possible with our products. The area of application is versatile. Depending on the application, we will support you in the selection of suitable materials.

Packaging and protection

Prevent material damage during transport and storage and give your products a functional and attractive packaging. With our modern CNC-controlled milling and cutting machines, we manufacture case, foam and sorting inlays as well as protective packaging for transport, storage and sales presentation of your products.

At low weight, foams are extremely shock and impact resistant. Ideal properties as protective and transport packaging for highly sensitive and expensive products. There are no limits to your creativity in packaging.
