An open-minded group of Year 8 pupils from Falkenberg secondary school recently visited the BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH branch in Bad Liebenwerda. During their visit, the pupils were given a fascinating insight into the diverse production and training areas of the branch.
During the tour of the company, the pupils first learnt about the production of pitched roof accessories such as our Aeroflex 840 ridge and hip rollers and Rooflex chimney and wall flashing tapes. They learnt how these products are manufactured and where they are used in roof construction, which gave them a practical insight into the areas of application.
Another highlight of the visit was the exploration of the assembly of XPS rigid foam panels and PVC plastic panels. The students were able to experience at first hand how the panels are processed and prepared for use in various construction applications.
BOSIG Baukunststoffe GmbH also provided the pupils with detailed information about the various apprenticeships offered by the company, including industrial clerk, mechatronics technician, electronics technician and industrial electrician. The pupils were given an insight into the process of such training and were able to ask questions about the training content and future prospects.
During the visit, the pupils were also invited to take part in an interactive quiz where they could put their newly acquired knowledge to the test. Attractive prizes such as a backpack and a trigger box provided additional motivation and excitement.
