According to Section 38 of the Whistleblower Protection Act, the person providing the information is obligated to pay compensation for damages that arise from an intentional or grossly negligent report or disclosure of incorrect information. Irrespective of this, such incorrect information will also be prosecuted under criminal law with a corresponding demand for penalty and a criminal complaint to the responsible public prosecutor’s office.
